Snip & Sketch is an app on your Windows 10 computer that allows you to take a screenshot of any item being displayed on your computer. Snip & Sketch is an updated version to the Snipping Tool. One of the best features of Snip & Sketch is the ability to use a timer. This allows you to set the timer and then get your screen to the place you want before the screenshot is taken by the program. This program also allows you write over a screen clipping. You can highlight something on the screenshot with this feature. Here is a video from Windows Community that shows some features of Snip & Sketch. |
SafeShare.TV is a great site when you are sharing YouTube videos with your students and parents. This site takes out all the other videos you don't want to see on the side and at the end of a video. You paste the YouTube link of the video you want and then the site generates a SafeShare link for you. Great site to check out if you use YouTube videos a lot. Bouncy Balls is a fun website to display when playing music or to monitor your class noise level. Here are some suggestions for using this site from TeachersFirst: Display Bouncy Balls on your interactive whiteboard or projector anytime you want to monitor classroom noise levels. Share this tool with your class and let them "tech it out" by making noise and seeing how the balls react. Of course, the first time you use it, students will want to see just how MUCH noise they can make. Discuss how much the balls should be moving throughout the day. Use this tool during the Daily 5, learning stations, DEAR time, or other quiet times throughout the day. Challenge students to keep the balls as still as possible for the activity. Wheel Decide is a fun tool to use in your class. You could use it to make decisions as a class. You can add your own titles and change some settings for creating your own wheel. GregTangMath is a great site for some math challenge for kids. This site also has printables and other resources for teaching math concepts in a different way. Wordsmyth Kids is a great online dictionary for young students. After searching for a word, students will see basic information. There are often several pictures showing what the word means. Another great feature is the "World' and "Collections" tabs. By clicking a word in these areas, you will see a picture with all the words that would be found in that area. For example, if you click "home" and then choose "Things in a bathroom", you will see pictures of all items found there. You can easily get to definitions for each word from there. |
